At Sun-Studios, we specialize in developing 2D action/arcade games and pride ourselves on delivering convincing and expressive animations of outstanding quality. Sun-Studios was founded in 2006 by Daniel Sun and is based in Melbourne, Australia.

History

Animation

Prior to the rise of youtube, our animations and shortflims would be published on newgrounds.com, reviewed favourably and earning large viewership. With a passion for gaming, Daniel created a portfolio of retro-game-inspired animation, including the notable Power Star series: A dark take on Mario Bros. This lead to a desire to produce independent and original games.

Browser Games

We’ve had success developing free browser games for web portals such as newgrounds, kongregate and armorgames. Many of our games have been sponsored by major portals, widely exposed and well reviewed. As avid 2D fans, our focus is on action/platformers with wild aesthetics and amazing gameplay.

Armed with Wings

2008, saw us delivering another free title to web portals: Armed with Wings. Our visually striking action platformer went on to include a series of 5 games with a solid community and strong following. The next game in the series, Rearmed was greenlit in Dec 2014 and is coming to steam in May 2015. Rearmed is aiming to push the series to new heights for the first time on PC.
