I’m sure most of you have noticed that there is no ‘jumping’ in Rearmed, at least in the traditional platformer sense. Some players have even expressed their interest in having a jumping feature implemented.
I was hesitant at first, because introducing jumping this late in development would break some of the level design. But perhaps if I took a new approach to jumping that would serve to enhance combat – I’d be able to satisfy players and myself! And so…
Now you can Leap and perform Aerial Attacks!
This is how it works: Perform the roll by Blocking and hitting Left or Right, continue to hit Left or Right to Leap, then again, and again!
You can now attack in the air too! Very helpful for executing technical combos. Try attacking during rolls and the various jumps. Here’s a combo I prepared earlier:
Here’s the full update list:
Updates
• Roll/leap
• Air attacks
• Edge grabs
• Roll attacks
Fixes & balancing
• Camera zoom in air
• Attacks on moving platforms
• Up Power Strike
• Various bugs
The next update may not focus on any single aspect as I want to lift the quality of the entire experience. Expect many of the loose ends to be fixed in the next two weeks!

I think that this game is going to be as good as all the other games combined. While reading this i thought that this feature could be something that would ruin the atmosphere of the first game but my opinion changed in an instant after watching the demostration that you provided us.The idea of mixing both jumping like it was requsted without an enormous change to the game with the use of leaping an already used feature and combining it with great combos is simply fascinating.I always thought that you are a great developer now you went a step even further even if you think that it’s not something the special this is an opinion on the game as a whole and the updates and new features you come up with it’s simply great.
Hey Daniel I really like this update. It feels a lot more like the fun combo-mashing Culmination but retains the original essence of AwW1 and brings something completely refreshing to the gameplay. In fact I could go as far as to say this combat system is more sophisticated than Culmination. Attacks are quick and responsive. I find Culmination a little floaty and clunky. Either way, I’m glad you added a jump although the input for it seems a bit odd:/
P.S. When will you release the levels after Vandheer Round 1? How many levels are already planned?
again i can’t wait for this, i played it at my mates house and it is as good as i thought, keep up the good work!!!
Awesome! Good to hear you like it!
I can’t wait for the next update. I have been a fan for years and I’m so happy you have put it up on steam. Cannot wait to put up feedback with the new content. Also keep up the amazing work!!!!!
Thanks David! Updates will be coming soon – I’ve had to stop working for a past 2 weeks due to shifting offices.
